“More than words”: Mid East transportation market gets ready to
speak its own language!
ARAMEX set to launch market’s first customer service program based
on Arabic-email
Bonn: ARAMEX International, a leading provider of total
transportation solutions in the Middle East has announced that it
is set to become the first transportation company in the world to
accept orders and inquiries through Arabic e-mail.
The new service, which is expected to go into operation by the end
of the summer, comes as part of a comprehensive technological
prop-up that spans all parts of the company’s communications
network and day-to-day operational structure.
“ARAMEX has always empowered its customers by providing them
with the most advanced technology to place orders, track shipments
and make inquiries,” enthused Hazem Malhas, COO of ARAMEX
International. “The new Arabic e-mail service adds another tool
to this growing network of customer-oriented resources; This is an
important part of what has helped our growing number of clients
build confidence in our ability to provide them with total,
personalized transportation services over the years.”
The new service was made possible through close collaboration
between ARAMEX and Business Optimisation Consultants, a leading
developer of Arabic software and Internet applications. “ARAMEX
will be using Maktoob, an Arabic e-mail service that we recently
developed,” explained Samih Toukan of BOC. “The service now
boasts more than 15,000 users, and, with a rate of increase
totaling about 250 new users every day, we expect the total number
of users to increase to more than 100,000 by the end of the
Summer.”
In addition to providing Arabic e-mail, Maktoob will also offer
ARAMEX clients a range of virtual applications that are suitable
for business and personal use, including electronic greeting cards
and e-commerce services.
The link between ARAMEX and Maktoob will put ARAMEX in direct
contact with all of Maktoob’s users - the majority of whom
represent a large number of ARAMEX’s main target audience. “ARAMEX’s
traditional base of operations has always been the Middle East,
therefore it is only natural that we strengthen our presence in
the region by coming into direct contact with the region’s growing
‘virtual’ community,” added Malhas. “The link also
highlights our unique position as the transportation company in
the Middle East that is best suited to understanding and meeting
the cultural and linguistic requirements of the region.”
ARAMEX’s global network spans more than 250 countries worldwide
and is undergoing a large expansion plan that will lead it to the
opening of new offices and the expansion of personalized customer
services. ARAMEX is the only Arab-based company to go public on
NASDAQ, and is set to become the leading distribution company in
Middle East, Central Asia and the Indian Sub Continent by the turn
of the century.
